8/05/26 RECIPROCATION: TO SEEK HIS FACE – PSALM 27
HEARD: Where are the faithful ones? They are the ones who seek My face and don’t quit.
Psalm 27 is one of the verses for 5787 and 2027. I have been praying into the turn of the new Hebraic year on the eve of Sept 11, and after hearing His question, this morning I was thinking about what it actually means to “seek My face.” After praying into it and following the scriptures and what He placed in my heart I understand why He asked question, “Where are the faithful ones?”
Psalm 27:8 When you said, Seek my face; my heart said unto you, your face, LORD, will I seek.
1 Chronicles 16:11 Seek the LORD and his strength, seek his face continually.
To seek His face is recorded 7 times in the OT, and yet out of all the people in the Old Testament, how many people had that kind of relationship with God? I was reminded of when the Lord spoke with Moses face to face as His friend.
Exodus 33:11 And the LORD spoke unto Moses face to face, as a man speaks to his friend. And he turned again into the camp: but his servant Joshua, the son of Nun, a young man, departed not out of the tabernacle.
Numbers 12:6-8 And he said, Hear now my words: If there be a prophet among you, I the LORD will make myself known unto him in a vision, and will speak unto him in a dream. 7 My servant Moses is not thus, who is faithful in all my house. 8 With him will I speak mouth to mouth, even clearly, and not in dark sayings; and the form of the LORD shall he behold: why then were you not afraid to speak against my servant Moses?
Israel chose to stand afar off and let Moses be their mediator because they were afraid to draw near to God. They saw the lightning and smoke but they did not see God inside the cloud.
Exodus 20:18-19 And all the people saw the thunderings, and the lightnings, and the noise of the trumpet, and the mountain smoking: and when the people saw it, they moved, and stood far off. 19 And they said unto Moses, Speak you with us, and we will hear: but let not God speak with us, lest we die.
What exactly are we to seek? Yes we all want to SEE the Lord! Scripture tells us this is the generation that climbs His holy hill and seeks His face. I have seen Jesus enough times to remember what He looks like and the true beauty of His countenance, but in comparison to other ways I have received from Him, it is only a few times. He wants us to live and abide there.
Psalm 27:4 One thing have I desired of the LORD, that will I seek after; that I may dwell in the house of the LORD all the days of my life, to behold the beauty of the LORD, and to inquire in his temple.
Psalm 24:6 This is the generation of them that seek him, that seek your face, O Jacob. Selah.
The Hebrew word for “face” in Psalm 27 comes from a root word meaning TO TURN. I am reminded of when the eyes of the Lord search the whole earth to find a heart that is wholly towards Him. He turns His head towards those whom earnestly seek Him and want to please Him. That is the desire of God.
2 Chronicles 16:9A For the eyes of the LORD run to and fro throughout the whole earth, to show himself strong in the behalf of them whose heart is perfect toward him.

He wants to show Himself strong on our behalf when we desire Him to turn towards us. Granted sometimes He might turn to us in total pity because we have messed up so badly. Or perhaps those who are in the midst of their enemies He is saying to earnestly seek His face so that He may show Himself strong on our behalf. Sometimes He waits for us to call upon Him for help!
So in the Hebraic year 5787 (beginning the night of 9/11/26) when He desires us to seek His face, YES He wants us to literally see His literal face. But last night when I heard Him ask, “Where are the faithful ones? They are the ones who seek My face and don’t quit” – He was saying YES in response to my prayers over Psalm 27 that He wants us to earnestly desire Him to turn towards us and not give up seeking Him.
After so many years of hopeless delay, many have given up their passion for seeking God. For many years I have asked the Lord for reciprocal relationship and I am finally walking in that now. What that means on a practical way is that when I am praying or thinking about something, He responds and talks to me about it. It may comes through a moment of inspiration when He shows me a scripture, it may come through His still voice, it may be from a friend sharing their life. He speaks in more ways that we can count. What matters is that we seek Him because He wants to answer.
Matthew 7:7-11 Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and you shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you: 8 For every one that asks receives; and he that seeks finds; and to him that knocks it shall be opened. 9 Or what man is there of you, whom if his son ask bread, will he give him a stone? 10 Or if he ask a fish, will he give him a serpent? 11 If you then, being evil, know how to give good gifts unto your children, how much more shall your Father who is in heaven give good things to them that ask him?
After pondering this topic, today I went to the Word to Ponder website. This W2P popped up at random and was simply perfect in my desire to seek Him and have Him turn towards me in reciprocal relationship.
WORD TO PONDER: TO KNOW AND BE KNOWN 3/15/21
Dear one, for many years I have been working on your independent nature. I have helped you understand how independence keeps the joy of relationship at arm’s length. I have given you times of true intimacy when reciprocal love connects. And I have allowed you to experience times where there is no reciprocation so that you know the difference. Times of connecting and times of silence; these have been your training with Me and with others.
I am teaching you that heaven culture is all about relationship and reciprocal love. The joy of heaven would not be so without love and you cant have love without a house full of loved ones… Eternal life would be really hard without them. Trust Me dear one, I know! That’s why I made you and created you like Me. I have given you the gift to know Me even as I know you. And I have given you the gift to know others the same. What is the gift? The gift is the loving joy of true communion… partnership with Me and those I love.
1 Corinthians 10:16 The cup of blessing which we bless, is it not the communion of the blood of Christ? The bread which we break, is it not the communion of the body of Christ?
