ROSH A SHANNA: 5786 (2026)

ROSH A SHANNA: 5786 (2026)
9/22/25: The head of the Jewish New Year (5786) begins tonight at sundown. Today I studied Psalm 26 for the Hebrew year 5786 and our year 2026.
In this Psalm David seems to have been accused and is running to God asking Him to be his judge and vindicator. David is asking the Lord to examine him and see his choices. I see the Psalm (and thus the year) as a year of separation unto God, away from the falsehoods of evil in order to escape the shaking places of evil fellowship. It is a year to come into His habitation and tabernacle with the Lord so that our walk will no longer be in a shaking, wavering, uneven place. Standing in such a place keeps us from slipping and falling.
David makes a clear distinction regarding the separation of his choices. When you read the following distinctions, consider that movie entertainment / video games that contains evil people and violence IS fellowship and dwelling in the wrong place. The enemy is accusing those who dwell there. 5786/ 2026 is a year of separation unto God, away from having fellowshipped with the darkness of the world. According to this Psalm, doing so will produce a solid walk without falling, slipping or shaking. (Hebrew definitions.)
DAVID ASKS THE LORD
- To judge him (take his case to court and produce a sentence to be vindicated)
- Examine him (test him like metals are separated in heat)
- Prove him (try him through experience)
- Try him (purge/ separate him like heated metals are skimmed on the top)
- Redeem him (random him and sever him from his enemies)
- Be merciful to him (bend and stoop down in kindness)
DAVID CHOOSES TO WALK WITH GOD:
- To walk in integrity (complete innocence)
- To trust in the Lord (confidence in Him)
- Keeping God’s lovingkindness as His focus
- Walking in God’s truth
- Having washed hands (works) that are innocent
- Going to His altar of prayer
- Proclaiming a thankful heart
- Speaking of His wonderful works
- Loving the dwelling place of tabernacling with the Lord
- Honoring God
- Standing in an solid, straight and even place
DAVID REFUSES EVIL:
- Having no fellowship with useless and vain people
- Having no fellowship with those who are two faced hypocrites
- Having no fellowship with those who practice evil
- Not sitting with the wicked ones
- Not congregating with sinners
- Not gathering with those who do violence, plan evil and take bribes
Psalm 26:1-12 Judge me, O LORD; for I have walked in my integrity: I have trusted also in the LORD; therefore I shall not slide. 2 Examine me, O LORD, and prove me; try my heart and my mind. 3 For your lovingkindness is before my eyes: and I have walked in your truth. 4 I have not sat with vain persons, neither will I go in with hypocrites. 5 I have hated the congregation of evildoers; and will not sit with the wicked. 6 I will wash my hands in innocence: so will I go about your altar, O LORD: 7 That I may proclaim with the voice of thanksgiving, and tell of all your wondrous works. 8 LORD, I have loved the habitation of your house, and the place where your honor dwells. 9 Gather not my soul with sinners, nor my life with bloody men: 10 In whose hands is mischief, and their right hand is full of bribes. 11 But as for me, I will walk in my integrity: redeem me, and be merciful unto me. 12 My foot stands in an even place: in the congregations will I bless the LORD.
