Activation: Ministering Through People Similarities

ACTIVATION: MINISTERING THROUGH PEOPLE SIMILARITIES

One of the ways God speaks to us is through similarities of recalling a person. We may be praying over someone, and then He will bring the memory of someone else into mind. It might be a Bible character, a person we know, a person in a story, etc. He is saying that there is something important about the person you are ministering to that has these same qualities, experiences, or gifts of the person He has brought to mind.

I have been in meetings where the prophet shares that “you look just like a person I know.” And then they prophesy some of the things that are quickened to them, from what the Lord brings to mind. I recently had the blessing of watching someone prophesy over a person, sight un-seen. She gave 12 points about this person and I was so flabbergasted because it was the most precise, accurate description of this person I had ever seen in a prophetic word. I told her I was going to follow her around like a duck until she told me exactly HOW she received that Word! She told me the Lord brought into mind someone else she had read about in the news, and that was the starting point and then it naturally unfolded from there.

That is exactly how it is to prophesy and give Words. He gives us that first step that introduces a direction will take and then things begin to unfold in a natural progression after that. Give your mind to Christ! Let Him bring these steps in a lovely unfolding array like a flower opening its petals!

ACTIVATION:

1) When you are praying over a person, ask the Lord to bring someone else to mind that somehow connects with this person you are praying for. You may not know how they connect, so the first step is just to ask Him to recall someone else to mind.

2) After He brings another person to mind, seek Him and consider all the GOOD qualities about that person you have recalled:

Consider their personality traits
Their life experiences
Life lessons
Any Words that the Lord has spoken to them
Something they are experiencing at the moment
What they are overcoming
What their main gifts are
Their function or placement in the body
What scripture you are reminded of when you think of that person

This might be a literal connection that results in a Word of knowledge, like for instance, you might consider:

Where the person lives
Something about their home
Their family
Their job
Their ministry
Their life’s accomplishments

3) Now draw some conclusions by sharing that the Lord brought a certain person to mind and share the things that are quickened to you about that person.

4) The next step depends upon your level of faith. You can approach this information with the following ideas, depending upon the level of certainty you have:

EXAMPLE 1:

I am wondering if you identify with these things, as I feel led to pray for you. Then pray over the list that you received. Perhaps validating these things by blessing them, asking the Lord to bring increase, or help, or confirmation, establishing, etc. End with a scripture.

EXAMPLE 2:

I sense the Lord might be saying that you are like this person in the following ways… then mention the list and draw some kind of a conclusion through either a prayer, a love letter from God (a prophesy), an interpretation, a summary comment. End with a scripture.

EXAMPLE 3:

Turn the list into a prophetic Word by prophesying through a Word of comfort, building up, inviting, Decreeing or Blessing them into the person’s life in a positive way. End with a scripture.
