THE RIDDLE OF THE RED LICORICE

7/02/21 THE RIDDLE OF THE RED LICORICE

I was praying over body weakness and feeling weary in my soul and I heard the Lord say,

Mount up. Its much easier to fly sweet one. Simply let My Spirit carry you.

Isaiah 40:28-31 Have you not known? have you not heard, that the everlasting God, the LORD, the Creator of the ends of the earth, faints not, neither is weary? there is no searching of his understanding. 29 He gives power to the faint; and to them that have no might he increases strength. 30 Even the youths shall faint and be weary, and the young men shall utterly fall: 31 But they that wait upon the LORD shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint.

As I pondered this scripture I remembered that I recently saw the red licorice commercial that was highly quickened me, but I didn’t know why. A guy is sitting on the beach pondering, while chewing on some red licorice. He asks himself, Why cant I wear white after labor day?

This morning when I looked up Isa 40 passage in my Bible program, I saw that this story was connected to it.

6/07/13 FOLLOWING THE PATH OF THE RED LICORICE

EXPERIENCE: Today I suffered extreme exhaustion, (probably due to taking some prednisone this week) and I had 2 doctors appointments. So I was really praying for physical strength to get through the day.

While I was driving to the doctor appt I asked the Lord for a prophetic Word through His bringing something into remembrance. I laughed because immediately I thought of a red licorice rope! It was very obviously Him since it just came out of the blue.

QUICKENED EYE GLANCE: I turned my head to look at a car and it was the same color van as ours and the last three letters on the plate spelled FLY. I was pondering the word FLY I was thinking about a bird waiting for the wind and how it spreads its wings to rise higher and soar.

OH I GET IT LORD!

The red licorice represents this scripture! This was SO funny to me because He has given me this scripture and Word to many, many times. The Hebrew word to wait means to bind together by twisting, which is like the red licorice rope! He took me the long way around to tell me He was answering my urgent prayer for strength and also gave me a fun treasure hunt in the process. Smiles.

Isa 40:31 But they that wait upon the LORD shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint.

I felt SO satisfied to have walked through the process of that Word, intimately knowing I was following His lead, like a divine setup! After the doctor appt I went to get groceries, and was just completely spent once I landed in line at the check stand. After I placed my groceries on the ramp, I saw a man’s hand put something down right next to my divider I had put down at the end of my groceries.

Oh my! It was a bag of red licorice! I looked at him and he smiled at me and I wondered if he was an angel! I felt so comforted with his smile.

My mind went back to the commercial where the guy pondered: Why cant I wear white after labor day?

I have no idea what they were referring to, but it was quickened to me as a riddle from the Lord. In facing weariness He tells us to enter Sabbath rest. That is where we labor to enter in. We cease striving, know He is God and believe Him. Sabbath rest, simply put is believing God and coming to a place in our faith where we no longer struggle to walk, run, pursue, flap our wings… we rest all of that and simply rest in what He tells us and we are carried by His Word to us.

Hebrews 4:1-13 Let us therefore fear, lest, although a promise being left us of entering into his rest, any of you should seem to come short of it. 2 For unto us was the gospel preached, as well as unto them: but the word preached did not profit them, not being mixed with faith in them that heard it. 3 For we who have believed do enter into rest, as he said, As I have sworn in my wrath, they shall not enter into my rest: although the works were finished from the foundation of the world. 4 For he spoke in a certain place of the seventh day in this way, And God did rest the seventh day from all his works. 5 And in this place again, They shall not enter into my rest. 6 Seeing therefore it remains that some must enter into it, and they to whom it was first preached entered not in because of unbelief: 7 Again, he limits a certain day, saying in David, Today, after so long a time; as it is said, Today if you will hear his voice, harden not your hearts. 8 For if Joshua had given them rest, then would he not afterward have spoken of another day. 9 There remains therefore a rest to the people of God. 10 For he that is entered into his rest, he also has ceased from his own works, as God did from his. 11 Let us labor therefore to enter into that rest, lest any man fall after the same example of unbelief. 12 For the word of God is living, and powerful, and sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart. 13 Neither is there any creature that is not manifest in his sight: but all things are naked and opened unto the eyes of him with whom we have to do.

SLOW DOWN NOW 6/1/99

You have been on the front lines for a very long time. A great deal was accomplished in that season. Yet much of the stress you felt was from a life style of busy activities. I AM interrupting you so you will slow down. A change is coming, so bring your focus back to Me and return to the intimacy of fellowship in My place – the holy place. Keep your focus on Me and not on the busy things, and I will clear up the confusion. In My house all cares are cast aside and I bring a needed rest and supply refreshment for your soul. Rest in Me. Let Me breathe upon you a second wind.

Look for My wind, for I bring a double portion on My wings to those who look for Me. In the double portion is the promise of a sabbath rest you have yet to understand. You shall dwell in My holy cloud and learn to take My yoke upon you for it is light and easy and I provide all that you need.

“For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.” (Mt 11:30 KJV)
